5 ways to tie the KANDER scarf

The KANDER scarf measures 200 cm long by 55 cm wide: a generous length that lends itself to every kind of knot. Here are the five we use most, from the quickest to the most dressed-up, with the coat that goes with each.

1. The simple loop

Fold the scarf in half, place it behind your neck, and pull both ends through the loop. Thirty seconds, a perfect finish, with the patch clearly visible on the front end. It's the everyday knot, ideal with a straight-cut coat or a puffer jacket. With the red and sand KANDER, it's all you need to bring colour to a dark outfit.

2. The double wrap

Centre the scarf on the back of your neck, wrap it around twice, and let the ends fall in front or tuck them inside your coat. It's the warmest knot: alpaca wool wraps your neck without itching, even against bare skin (we explain why here). Perfect under a turned-up collar in bitter cold.

3. The drape

A single wrap, ends of equal length, left hanging loose in front. The most elegant option with a long open coat or a wool jacket: the check pattern draws two vertical lines that lengthen the silhouette. The camel and ivory version is particularly suited to this look, understated and chic.

4. The Parisian knot

Like the simple loop, but you pull only one end through the loop before tightening it, leaving the other end free. A touch more nonchalance, less bulk in front. The one to choose with a trench coat or a short jacket.

5. The shawl

Open the scarf out to its full width and drape it over your shoulders, over a dress or a jumper, in the evening, indoors or on a terrace. At 55 cm wide, it easily covers the shoulders. The pink and snow KANDER is the one most often worn this way.

Three styling tips

  • Patch at the front: place the end bearing the patch on the front, so it signs the scarf without shouting.
  • Fringes free: don't tuck them in; they give the scarf its line.
  • Matching or contrasting beanie: red on red with the SARNEN Magma Red, or a contrast with a white ÄGERI. To choose your beanie, read SARNEN or ÄGERI.

Keeping it in shape

A 200 cm scarf should be stored folded, never hung, and hand-washed cold: everything is in our care guide.
